I've been involved in Relay For Life since 10th grade of high school. Relay For Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society (ACS) that culminates into a 24-hour walk focused on bringing the community together, celebrating the victories of cancer survivors, honoring the loved ones lost, and finding a cure. Since cancer never sleeps, for one night neither will we.
As Event Co-Chair, I oversaw a 50+ person committee focusing on Recruitment, Marketing, Production, and Development. Throughout my term, I spoke at over 15 events, emceed the event day, and personally raised $1,250 towards the fight against cancer. I relay for my grandmother who was diagnosed with cancer at 89-years-old and is a current survivor. If you are interested in helping the fight against cancer, consider participating in UW Relay For Life.
